Despite our rigorous editorial process, errors can sometimes occur. The Aquarium Calculators is committed to transparency and promptly correcting any inaccuracies.
How We Handle Errors
- Immediate Action: When an error is identified, especially one that could impact fish health, we prioritize its correction.
- Transparency: For significant corrections, we may add an editor's note to the page explaining the change.
- Algorithm Updates: If a calculator formula is updated, we document the change in our version history.
Severity Levels
Not all corrections are treated the same way:
- Critical: Errors that could lead to fish injury or death (e.g. incorrect dosing, dangerous parameter ranges). These are corrected immediately, often within hours of verification.
- Significant: Errors that affect the accuracy of a result but carry lower risk. These are typically corrected within a few business days.
- Minor: Typos, formatting issues, or outdated references. These are batched into our regular review cycle.
Reporting an Error
If you find an error in our content or calculators, please contact us. Provide as much detail as possible, including the specific page and the nature of the error. Our Scientific Review Team will investigate the issue promptly.
Version History
Significant calculator and content updates are logged with a date and a brief description of what changed, so returning readers can see how our guidance has evolved.
